Clinical supervision is the heartbeat of safe, ethical, and sustainable therapeutic practice. It is far more than a regulatory requirement; it is a vital, creative space where the complexity of the client-therapist relationship is explored, understood, and refined.
This PCI College programme is designed for experienced practitioners ready to transition into the supervisory role. By participating, you will develop the specialised skills to support your supervisees, enhance the quality of clinical care, and contribute to the ongoing growth and resilience of the counselling profession.
Who is this course for?
This programme is designed for experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who have met the necessary practice requirements and feel ready to step into the role of a clinical supervisor.

- Clinical Leads: Enhance your ability to support teams, manage clinical risk, and foster a culture of reflective practice within your organisation.
- Accreditation Seekers: Gain the recognised training required to begin your journey toward becoming an IACP/IAHIP-accredited supervisor.

- Leadership Growth: Become a mentor and coach, helping colleagues avoid burnout and navigate the emotional challenges of the work.

The curriculum balances the conceptual frameworks of supervision with deep, experiential practice, ensuring you are prepared to manage the responsibilities of the role.
- Models of Supervision: An exploration of the core frameworks (such as the Seven-Eyed Model) used to structure supervisory sessions.
- The Supervisory Alliance: Understanding the power dynamics, boundaries, and communication skills essential to creating a “forum for reflection.”
- Ethics & Risk: Managing the legal and ethical responsibilities of the supervisor, including safeguarding, duty of care, and multi-disciplinary communication.
